About Jon Portillo, LPC
Trauma & EMDR Therapist in Broomfield
I specialize in trauma and anxiety treatment for adults whose nervous systems have become overwhelmed. My work focuses on helping clients regain stability after acute events, chronic stress, panic attacks, and experiences that have not resolved on their own.
How I Work
Trauma treatment requires both structure and steadiness. I approach this work with careful pacing, clinical experience, and a focus on safety. My goal is not simply insight, but meaningful nervous system resolution so you can return to clarity, confidence, and a sense of control.
Clients often describe my style as calm, grounded, and direct. I prioritize safety and rapport, especially when working with difficult activating material. Trauma therapy should feel contained and manageable, not chaotic or rushed.
I use EMDR therapy and evidence based trauma treatment methods in a collaborative way. We move at a pace that respects your nervous system while still making meaningful progress.
Training and Focus
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with specialized training in EMDR therapy and trauma-informed treatment. My clinical focus includes panic attacks, nervous system dysregulation, and recovery after overwhelming life events. I work with adults whose anxiety has not fully resolved through traditional talk therapy alone.

Outside of the Office
Outside of clinical work, I value balance, movement, and time with family. I believe stability is not just something we talk about in therapy, but something we practice in daily life.
